Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said it had shot down a US surveillance drone, further raising tensions between Tehran and Washington and sending oil prices sharply higher.
In a case of “he said,she said” Iran said the drone was over their territory and the US said it was “international waters” and it “didn’t do nuffin wrong”.

According to a report by a Yemeni website dubbed ‘Al-Najm al-Thagheb’ on the last Thursday’s attacks on two oil tankers in the Sea of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz, after the US expressed its reluctance to engage in a military confrontation with Iran following the attacks on the oil tankers, the intelligence shows that Israelis and some Arab states in the Persian Gulf region are cooperating to launch a new world war.
The Al-Najm al-Thagheb’s report quoted a former member of the Israeli Knesset by the name of ‘Talab Abu Arar’ as saying that Israel had a hand in the earlier attacks on four commercial vessels in the Fujairah port off the UAE coast and continued its attempts to create more tensions in cooperation with some Arab states in the region.
The report added that there have recently been several meetings between Israeli and Emirate officials that agreed on the formation of a new armed group comprised of radical Islamists to carry out sabotage attacks in the Indian Ocean, the Oman Sea, and parts of South Asia.
Citing informed sources, the Yemeni website said that the former members of the Yemeni Al-Qaeda group form the core of the new armed group, with their command stationed in Hadhramaut desert of Yemen under the supervision of Mossad and intelligence services of Arab states in the Persian Gulf.
According to the report, the armed group was formed 8 months ago and its members were trained in Israeli military bases in Eritrea and training bases of Arab countries. Their number is about 175, of which 80 were former members of Al-Qaeda in Yemen.
The report further added that the head of UAE intelligence has personally been engaged in meetings with Israeli Mossad officials.
Is the above story true? Sources can be found on the web (see below) but they are partisan – Islamic, Turkish or Yemeni etc. However, it must be said that Israel has been pushing for war with Iran (at least an American war) for a decade and therefore it has the ring of truth.

In a Fox News video published on You Tube on Jul 24, 2018, Tucker Carlson argued that an Iran war would destroy Trump’s presidency. Retired Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor warned that such a war would have wider implications dragging in Russia and China [1] and warned (nearly a year ago) that the Neo-Conservatives would use a “Gulf of Tonkin” false flag attack as an excuse for war. Israeli News Live has a perceptive analysis that adds a lot more intelligence information. [4] Over the past decade, Bolton has endorsed regime change in Tehran at the hands of the People’s Mujahedeen of Iran (MEK) an extremely marginal group with no support inside Iran but some support in the Diaspora. Only in 2012 did the State Department delist the MEK as a terrorist group, which is ironic in light of the fact that they recently listed the IRG (Iranian Republican Guard) as terrorists. In other words MEK has been restored to favour to foment trouble. Both Bolton and Rudy Giuliani (from Trump’s inner circle) have spoken at MEK events at home and abroad and last fall Rudy Giuliani told Iranian dissidents in Times Square that regime change is “going to happen.”[5] According to the video it is these MEK dissidents that purchased Iranian patrol boats to conduct the false flag. If this is correct then it bears uncanny echoes of the story related by journalist Seymour Hersh regarding a brain-storming session conducted with Neocons and Vice President Dick Cheney where it was proposed to build fake Iranian patrol boats and man them with disguised Seals for a false flag attack. [6] Of course, the CENTCOM video could be a simple rescue mission (as suggested on a previous post). There are many reasons to regard the official narrative as suspect.
Another interesting and under-reported fact is the Mysterious Blazes on Six Iranian Ships in Iranian Ports [7] which according to the video was the work of mercenary frogmen hired by Saudi Arabia in response to the Houthi sabotage of their pipeline.
The retired American Politician Ron Paul says that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s rush to judgement that Iran was behind the apparent attacks on two tanker ships last week has not galvanized world opinion against Iran, as the neocons hoped. Instead, it was met with high scepticism even among Washington’s closest allies. Has the neocon practice of massively exaggerating and endlessly issuing threats finally destroyed US credibility on the world stage? [8]

The Pentagon has released a time-line and color enhanced video shots that establish beyond doubt…..absolutely nothing (LOL). It seems to me more likely that the video was originally in color and then deliberately degraded.
What you apparently see are a number of Iranian special forces (in high visibility life-jackets) rescuing the crew removing a mine. It is interesting that the patrol boat is alongside the T-with-arrow marking as this is exactly amidships and therefore has the least roll and sway for attaching a Jacob’s rescue ladder.[1] Notice the time stamp (13:18) and the very long shadows (sun should be overhead casting small shadows) notice the white draft gauge markings (not present on the CENTCOM image of the current tanker). Even if the story is true (sic) the Iranians are removing mines not placing them. If they are removing a mine they are doing it in an incredibly stupid, nonchalant and unprofessional manner. Of course this critique has already been per-empted by the ABC;
“The officials described the attempt to remove the unexploded
mine in the way shown in the images as "very high risk"
and not a way that the U.S. Navy would have ever undertaken.
According to those officials they would have removed the mine
remotely with as few personnel around the ship as possible”.
So, the Iranians who supposedly planted the mine were too stupid to know how to safely remove it (LOL).
Firstly, this could be a picture of anything (it has no context) and secondly what is the raised round disk? Could it be an anode? [2]

It all has to do with the Strait of Hormuz. Blocking the Strait could cut off oil and gas from Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Iran – 20% of the world’s oil. There has been some debate on whether this could occur – whether the US Fifth Fleet, which is stationed nearby, could stop Tehran doing this and if Iran, which has anti-ship missiles on its territory along the northern border of the Persian Gulf, would go that far.
An American source said a series of studies hit President Trump’s desk and caused panic in Washington. These showed that in the case of the Strait of Hormuz being shut down, whatever the reason, Iran has the power to hammer the world financial system, by causing global trade in derivatives to be blown apart.
The Bank for International Settlements said last year that the “notional amount outstanding for derivatives contracts” was $542 trillion, although the gross market value was put at just $12.7 trillion. Others suggest it is $1.2 quadrillion or more.
