An American newspaper editor once famously said: “I can’t always control what people think, but I can always control what people think about.” That’s why six corporations own 90% of all media outlets. Soon they will be able to control everything. Once again, like much AI, the problem isn’t so much what can actually be done as how they can claim to be able to do things. If they say they can read minds and the ‘algorithm is ‘too complicated to explain, then we are stuck believing them. They will use this to tell you a high school grad with AI can replace your doctor. Trust me …when they run out of money they will do just that. If hyperinflation comes they will tell us they have great substitutes for what we were supposed to get. One way or another this is not good.
