TEHRAN, Jul. 29 (MNA) – Commander of the Iranian Army’s Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi announced on Monday that Iran and Russia have agreed to conduct another joint military exercise in some specific areas of the Indian Ocean by the year end.
Russia and the UK to carry out joint exercises
Iran crisis: Britain could ask Russia and China to join fight as tensions rocket in the Gulf Boris Johnson was last night under mounting pressure to join the European-led maritime coalition to safeguard tankers from Iranian attacks.
Is this a new strategy? We get the Russians to join Iran and the UK. Then we get the Russian ships to sink each other? It is quite possible that we have reached new levels of idiocy.
Iran will “not allow disturbance in shipping in this sensitive area” Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was quoted as saying in state media, while leading a delegation to Paris, Reuters reports. However, it’s unclear at this point how far Iran is willing to go in this escalating game of chicken with the US and UK – both of which have warships and other military assets in the gulf region.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 P.M.) – Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, stated at a U.N. session on Tuesday that the occupied Golan Heights is an integral part of Syria and its liberation is a high priority.
Liberating occupied Golan Heights from Israel high priority: Jaafari
It is a good thing no other rogue nations have nuclear weapons
We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: 'Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother.' I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.
Iran crisis: British oil tanker seized in Strait of Hormuz as UK shipping warned to avoid area in Gulf Mr Hunt said he was attending a Cobra meeting to determine the UK’s response and what could be done to secure their release, adding that the seizures were “unacceptable”.
Crucially, all of this comes just as UK officials have announced authorities in Gibraltar will detain the tanker ‘Grace 1’ – first seized early this month by UK Royal Marines – for another 30 days.
“We will soon release the images and footage recorded by the IRGC Aerospace Force drone from the USS Boxer to expose Americans’ baseless claims to the public opinion of the world,” the public relations department of the IRGC announced today.
Operators of the drone refused calls to stand down, after which it was;
“immediately destroyed”
Bam, bam, boom…gotcha
Ba Ba boom shoot that drone
Where is the film evidence? The grainy video? The parts retrieved from the sea? The sailors dancing a jig and celebrating? Perhaps it was an Iranian boy flying a kite?
“We have no information about losing a drone today,” Zarif told reporters at the United Nations before a meeting with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has seized a foreign vessel with 12-crew members carrying one million barrels of oil. In an official Iranian media statement early on Thursday, the country’s military asserted the tanker was caught “smuggling” the fuel through the Strait of Hormuz.
The ship’s registered owner, Dubai-based Prime Tankers LLC, told the AP it had sold the ship to another company called Mouj Al-Bahar. A man who answered a telephone number registered to the firm told the AP it didn’t own any ships. The Emirati official said the ship was “neither UAE owned nor operated” and carried no Emirati personnel, without elaborating. If they were smuggling that would explain why there wasn’t any distress signal and why the UAE has forsworn any knowledge or responsibility for the vessel.
So, does it belong to the UAE or to Panama (even the UK has been suggested)?
A phantom drone and a phantom ship up to no good….who would have thunk it?
It is better not to believe any of it. The war drums are beating and as long as they can paint a picture of a lawless, aggressive Iran that is believed by 80% of the public they will have done a good job of preparing public sentiment for the need to intervene and make the world safe for us all.
