Radiation from the flare ionized the top of Earth’s atmosphere, causing a shortwave radio blackout around the Atlantic Ocean: blackout map. Radio transmissions at frequencies below ~30 MHz were attenuated for more than an hour after the flare.
Since the flare occurred, a mish-mash of CMEs has billowed away from the sun’s southern hemisphere. It is unclear if these CMEs are related to the X-flare or instead some other, lesser explosions that happened at almost the same time. There was a filament eruption to the right of the X-flare, and a C4-class solar flare in a different sunspot to the left. NOAA analysts are busy unraveling these events using computer models to determine if one of the CMEs might hit Earth. Stay tuned
Sunspot AR3006 is having an identity crisis. It is supposed to have a +/- magnetic field. Mostly it does. But deep inside the sunspot's primary core, the polarity is opposite: -/+. The mixture of magnetic polarities makes this sunspot interesting and dangerous. When opposite polarities bump together, it can light the fuse of magnetic reconnection–the explosive power source of solar flares. If AR3006 flares today, it will be geoeffective. The sunspot is directly facing Earth.
Update: The sunspot *did* flare today. An X1.5 class explosion on May 10th (1355 UT) caused a radio backout over the Atlantic Ocean and may have hurled a complicated CME toward Earth.

This year, Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on Sunday, Sept. 29, and ends two days later at sunset on Tuesday, October the first.
Rosh Hashanah marks the start of the Jewish High Holy Days leading up to Yom Kippur. It marks the beginning of the 10 “Days of Awe,” in which Jews focus their attentions on repentance and reflection leading up to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, considered to be holiest day of the Jewish year.
The Jews blow the trumpet (shofar) on these holy days. In 1973, when the angel blew the trumpet on Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) the nation was attacked. Divine retribution instead of divine forgiveness. Yet, many Christians cheered on the nation because it was victorious.
If we count 28 years (4×7) onward we arrive at the fifth trumpet:
“The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss” (Rev 9:1-2).

Yom Kippur 2019 will begin in the evening of Tuesday, 8 October and ends in the evening of Wednesday, 9 October. The trumpet is about to sound again. I believe that we are coming close to the last Trump. The vials will start to be poured out demanding repentance. This year ends the super shemita cycle ( http://www.biblaridion.info/html/ch21.html#_edn8 ). That means the fiftieth Jubilee is over. Was there any debt forgiveness? Is Jerusalem a light on a hill for the nations? Have the Jews let their good works (Epstein et al) shine forth?
Coincidental, the Chinese are also on holiday. As of Tuesday, China will be on vacation for its Golden Week National Holiday and the weakness in the markets appears to be traders front-running the traditional chaos that the rest of the world plays when China leaves the playing field.China will be back in business on October 9th, and that means the Shanghai Gold Exchange, which opened in 2015 to counter Western manipulation of precious metals, will likely help re-balance prices to where they were before this recent take-down.
