Mageuo i.e, magician in Acts 8:9 cf.\u00a0 MAGA and MAGUS).\u00a0 Paul addressed them In Ephesians as once they had followed the <strong>archon<\/strong> of the power of the air and were children of disobedience (Eph 2:2).\u00a0 The <strong>mystery<\/strong> (hidden knowledge or <strong>gnosis<\/strong>) is hidden in Christ who is the manifold wisdom (<strong>sophia<\/strong>) of God in Eph 3:10 and the fulness (<strong>pleroma<\/strong>) in Eph 3:19. \u00a0 All Gnostic terminology. \u00a0\u00a0 It was at Ephesus that Paul found (and Baptized) former disciples of John the Baptist (Acts 19) and where he found Kabbalistic Jews practicing sorcery.\u00a0 The disciples of the Baptist ended up rejecting Christ and they became the Gnostic sect historically known as Mandaeans. Eventually the Gnostic believers who did not accept Christ as being a material, fleshly being were ejected from the Church.\u00a0 It was the heresy of Docetism &#8211; they believed that Jesus was really a spirit not a man because the material creation was evil and made by a demiurge.\u00a0 Of course the church could not tolerate such nonsense.<\/p>\r\n<pre>\"And every spirit (prophet who possessed the spirit) that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world\" (1 John 4:3 ). <\/pre>\r\n<p>There is truth in everything.\u00a0 Some of the Heremetic (Gnostic) concepts are true but many are perversions of the truth.\u00a0 The famous Hermetic maxim, <em>&#8220;As above, so below&#8221;<\/em> is true for the pattern of the heavenly, establishes the pattern of the earthly.
