The RT-quick or more exactly the RT-QuIC. Real-time quaking-induced conversion (RT-QuIC) is a highly sensitive in vitro assay that detects amyloid proteins and misfolded proteins, such as prions, in biospecimens. RT-QuIC is used to diagnose neurodegenerative diseases, including Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), Lewy body disorders, and synucleinopathies. Endotoxins are lipopolysaccharides (LPS) that are found in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli.

Inflammation

LPS from E. coli can induce a strong inflammatory response through the MD2/TLR4 receptor complex.
