(11 min)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cruising for a bruising\" width=\"614\" height=\"345\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4FfLhG0h6Ec?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<pre>\u201cI was taught from the Bible, those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed,\u201d the senator said while appearing on an episode of Carlson\u2019s show posted on Wednesday. \u201cAnd from my perspective, I want to be on the blessing side of things.\u201d Cruz\u2019s statement left Carlson with a few questions, like whether that verse was referring to the current government of Israel or if the Republican could even tell him what part of the Bible he was pulling from. When Cruz was unable to find an answer off the top of his head, right-wing pundit Carlson reminded the senator he was cribbing from the book of Genesis and then wondered how Cruz could base his opinion on scripture he couldn\u2019t even cite correctly. \u201cSo you\u2019re quoting a Bible phrase, you don\u2019t have context for it,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cYou don\u2019t know where in the Bible it is, but that\u2019s your theology? I\u2019m confused. What does that even mean? \u201d Cruz got defensive as Carlson pushed him to define what he meant by Israel, be it the state\u2019s current borders, its current leadership, a \u201cpolitical entity\u201d or how it was defined in biblical times.
