War, Oil and Australia’s Energy Future | The West Report Live ft Tim Buckley (41 min)

My Comments under the video:

We will never run Australia without baseload power from carbon-based fuels. I understand the desire to be free of the oil-geopolitics, but we have enough Hydrogen, LNG, uranium and oil to run our own affairs. We can and should expand renewables as much as possible (I have solar and batteries and a heat pump, but I also have gas). Energy needs to be decentralised with small, distributed power stations and a mix of renewables. We will see huge (natural) climate change that will disrupt all energy production (giant hail, flooding, earthquakes etc) as a consequence of the ongoing magnetic excursion etc. So, the wise thing to do is a mix of energy options and distributed rather than centralized. And, yes, we need to get a handle on the horrible turf (oil) wars..

And something else. Lithium (and other metals) will become the new oil. Already they are destabilizing governments and polluting envioronments and abusing third world labour to extract critical metals. The next wars will be over critical metals not oil. Things are always more complex than you think..

Agreed about the Super. Should be invested in Australian infrastructure. And the miners should not get diesel rebates..
