Good point. Everything is a stage show now. With a lawsuit they may choose someone to sacrifice as a fall guy. Make a big theater in the media about it. Even the president will make a speech of how distrusted he is. All while behind the scenes the corporate entities responsible shuffle around, change names shift money etc and carry on with what they where doing. The population needs a powerful corporation to protect them from corporations. That's what the government in a functioning representative democracy is supposed to be. Now it is an inverted totalitarianism a government that represents and works for corporations while pretending to be a functioning democracy while the corporations hide from accountability behind corporate anonymity. It means the federal courts and federal law enforcement are actually corporate courts and law enforcement. 
The biggest criminal act arguably for instance is the Supreme Court ruling that corporations are seen as people in terms of politics and donations. It betrayed democracy and made America a totalitarian state. Most never even knew it happened and it seems an obscure academic point you wont find as common knowledge in most local bars. There is now taxation without representation. 100%.
