Trump just launched the Genesis mission. AI in charge of everything mandated by Government. It looks like we just entered the Terminator Genisys phase. Below is the video from the US Department of Energy (DOE).
Taxpayers (mostly via income and payroll taxes) fund the multi-hundred billion dollar build outs of supercomputers, the electricity, the classified datasets, and the national-lab infrastructure.
A tiny consortium of private companies (Nvidia, Oracle, OpenAI, Microsoft, Dell, etc.) gets privileged and generally exclusive access to all of it. Any commercial applications/breakthroughs that comes out is co-owned or licensed first to those private partners with associated profits that flow overwhelmingly to shareholders and corporate suites. What could possibly go wrong?
