The Australian Media is “cooling the mark”  a technique used by confidence tricksters when they know that the “mark” starts suspecting that something is amiss.  You are the mark.  This is nothing but an exercise in damage limitation.  They are exonerating themselves and   gaslighting you at the same time.  Horrible people.  They should be punished.

This is the next stage of the operation.  It is what con artists or confidence tricksters do when they get caught.  They trickle some of the truth out.  It is called “Cooling the Mark” they drip feed a bit of truth in order to release the anger out of the situation.
