How Christian Nationalism PERVERTS The Teachings Of Jesus w/John Fugelsang (45 min)

Interesting discussion even though I disagree with much that is said it still has much to be commended.  For example the Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go her way and sin no more.  He forgave her.  He did not say, the law of adultery is no longer valid because it is from the Old Testament.  Similarly,  when he berates Paul as “not being Jesus” (and therefore not carrying apostolic weight of the Spirit) he is wrong.   For example Romans 1:24-27:

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

What nobody will tell you is that Paul is referring to the Golden Calf incident in which they worshiped the symbol of the Cheribum (ox face) with an orgy.

Exodus 32:6 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play (=orgy).

They worshiped the "creature" (the cherubium was the symbol of the indwelling Spirit of God in creation)

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Old Testament morality is not redundant which is why the disciples declared:

Luke 18:26-27 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?

If a rich man who kept the law could not be saved then what is the point?

Jesus answered:

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

This is a reference back to Abraham and Sarah who were so old as to be almost dead and the impossibility of them having a child. That child was the child of the covenant. Nothing is impossible with God.

So the Old Testament Law is not redundant but is tempered by the mercy and grace found in Christ.
