You are right on pointing out that neo-liberalism calls any state intervention communism. Certain industries require that they are answerable to the people. There need to be alternatives to "keep the bastards" honest. A Post Office bank is critical, so are utilities and public transport in public hands. Monopolies of any type need breaking up as such concentrations of power are detrimental to the public good and corporates need to pay their fair share of tax. Neo-Liberalism has been a disaster. Finally, I understand your love affair with China, and I know the history of colonial abuse, nevertheless the ordinary Chinese citizen is completely powerless in the face of corruption as anything detrimental to Party propaganda is hidden because it is considered a threat to the public good and that includes financial, environmental and natural disasters. The individual is of no consequence in the functioning of the system and the Party will pull out all stops to save face.
