The under 16 Social Media ban is a farce and the thin end of the wedge because it won’t work unless everybody has a face scan and verified digital ID.  Children will get around the ban and they already are.  So, they deliberately created the problem so that they can offer the solution. This is the Hegelian Dialectic at work.

Moreover, it is funnelling underage kids to platforms like Discord and Roblox which is known as a predator hunting ground. They even exempted BlueSky a leftist social media platform that has similar problems as well as indoctrination.  Get them while they are young.

So basically with the new Digital ID laws, my kids will still continue to watch Youtube but I can't enforce parental rules on them anymore and they can start watching 18+ stuff. They didn't remove access to kids, they removed my online parental controls. Great job Labor Australian Government.

This is a government that refuses to take action against gambling (because they receive lobbyist money) or against Porn sites (I wonder why?). This policy is meant to fail, and it will because kids already have work arounds including VPNs.

 

The state cannot and should not act In loco parentis except in extreme circumstances. They should not decide whether children are vaccinated or not, whether they require transgender hormone treatment, what they do on social media or what they should believe.That is the job of the parents.  The government already has them for years of schooling in which they  indoctrinate the children.  Moreover, as I have said, this will fail (deliberately) and is the thin end of the wedge leading to all of us requiring Digital ID, Digital money, Carbon Credit scores etc. resulting in a techno-feudal dystopia.  I have concluded that they are not incompetent. They are evil.
