The “Sons of God” in Genesis is not necessarily a reference to rebellious angels but rather to the godly line intermarrying with the line of Cain and the mysterious Nephilim who are called “giants” are alternatively referred to as men of renown (giant reputation) like Nimrod the mighty hunter and city builder. Much of the misunderstanding surrounding these early chapters of Genesis is caused the projection of  later (non canonical) Jewish books like Enoch.
