Separation Video

There are a thousand pathways to God. Really? I know of only one. Separation is the new sin. Really? And yet the Christian is admonished to keep separate from the world. God is supposedly not separate from his creation. Really? Creation is distinct from yet always dependent on God. And this is because God is both transcendent and imminent. Worshiping creation rather than the creator is a form of animism or Gaia. This theology is not about the oneness of mankind as an entity united with God but as an entity opposed to God. In this approach mankind transcends and “becomes divine” through the “collective” achieved by loss of individualism he supposedly becomes something greater than himself. The individual must be sacrificed and absorbed by the collective for “the greater good” in order for the collective to become the monad. This is communism/fascism with a religious spin. Apart from this being based on a deceptive and falsified understanding of Christianity it is founded on a lie because those who have the real power will always rule “the collective”. They will never allow their power or individuality to be absorbed by an amorphous “collective” they won’t even rule as first among equals, that is for the little people. Of course they will counter this by proposing a technocratic solution- the world will be run by Artificial Intelligence which will be completely autonomous and unbiased (sic).

Dugan video

I always found Dugan a bit of a puzzle and Hicks explains Dugan’s metamorphosis and progression over time. He has developed his philosophy from communist-Bolshevik internationalist roots through the spectrum of national-socialism (fascism) to an amalgamation which includes metaphysics. Here is where we dovetail with the “separation” video as none of these ideologies has room for the individual dignity or rights of man (not even bodily) as they are subsumed by the will of the collective (which we will call the “monad”) in it’s “oneness”. These philosophies are all bankrupt and suffer from the same problem, namely, the failure to recognize the root cause of mankind’s failure to develop a self-governing utopia is because man is inherently flawed. Even if man outsources his decision making responsibility to A.I. it will inevitably suffer from the same flaws and biases. The created thing can never elevate itself above its creator (especially if its creator [man] is flawed). Artificial Intelligence is the ultimate expression of the carnal mind and is created in the image of man because the “beast” is the expression of human pride and empire. Nebuchadnezzar who boasted of his empire being like a huge Gaia tree that fed everyone was struck down like a beast and suffered the madness of Boanthropy for seven years. In short, these ideas are what the apostle Paul would call “vain philosophies and deceit” and every time the world cycles through the ideologies imposed on us by “superior intellects” we end up in a world of pain, death and grief. Unless human nature is fundamentally reformed nothing will change.

Dugan’s interest in the metaphysical is telling because that is the direction where we are headed with an emphasis on the “monad” (a Gnostic term) dressed up as oneness, equality and love. It is very, very deceptive. Man is a dying flawed creature. Dugan should understand that having just lost his daughter to a terrible act of terror (I would wish that on no one). God gives us freewill and allows us to express that will even if it leads to sin. That is an act of love that allows us to grow and should encourage us to seek him.If you are a free agent with choice then you are not a cog in a collective. That does not mean that we don’t have collective responsibility and that our natural tendency to selfishness should not be curbed, but these ideologies all swing between extremes of laissez faire and authoritarian control. The Biblical picture of utopia is one where people do have property (And each man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, with no one to frighten him. Micah 4:4) in an era of peace and plenty (not the WEF model of “own nothing and be happy”). The act of achieving unity or “oneness” with God can only be achieved through the means that God provides (Christ) any other way is delusional and will fail.

Conclusion

Very good videos and I have started listening to the excellent audiobook from Hicks taking us from the age of faith, to the age of reason and to the counter enlightenment post-modernism. All these movements and philosophies will fail because man is flawed and broken. God is allowing us to find out the hard way that we need him. Will do more in depth reporting when I have a chance to listen to it all and contemplate it properly.
