Moloch
Liv Boeree – started out in astrophysics, ended up at the poker table. Moloch is a game theory strategy where you are willing to sacrifice anything and everything to win. In other words the end justifies the means. It leads to evil and it is animated by evil. Moloch or Melech means “King” (Baal means Lord).
"When the king of Moab saw that the battle had gone against him, he took with him seven hundred swordsmen to break through to the king of Edom, but they failed. Then he took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him as king, and offered him as a sacrifice on the city wall. The fury against Israel was great; they withdrew and returned to their own land." (2 Kings 3:26-27)
Apparently this gruesome display was a way of motivating the Moabites and refocusing their wrath (indignation) against Israel. The point is that nothing was spared and everything was sacrificed. No cost was too high and morality does not even enter the equation.
