What David says about the Australian forecast for cold seems to be based on the 2m temperature anomaly ……this would mean that a -2 means that it is two degrees colder than the baseline average for that time of year not that it is -2 below zero. In other words it is cooler than the average nor warmer. At least that is how I understand it.
