Back-grounding

Back-grounding

Not everyone has time nowadays to do background research and events are so fast moving that we are playing catch-up.  However, if you want to understand how we got here and what is happening then there are certain documentaries, interviews and articles that are worth reading.  Even if you don’t get time to fully watch them bookmark them and watch or read a bit at a time.  They are definitely worth coming back to.  This has been planned for a long time. The first one is short:

Aldous Huxley on Technodictators

Here is the full interview of Aldous Huxley by Mike Wallace in 1958. Aldous Huxley shares his visions and fears for this brave new world (28 mins).

HyperNormalisation (2016 + subs) by Adam Curtis – A different experience of reality FULL DOCUMENTARY

This doco is 2 hours 45 minutes. Click on it and it will take you through to YouTube.

The cult documentary maker explores the falsity of modern life in his own inimitable style. Though he’s spent the best part of four decades making television, Curtis’s signature blend of hypnotic archive footage, authoritative voiceover and a seemingly inexhaustible appetite for bizarre historical tangents is better suited to the web, a place just as resistant to the narrative handholding of broadcast TV as he is. He argues that an army of technocrats, complacent radicals and Faustian internet entrepreneurs have conspired to create an unreal world; one whose familiar and often comforting details blind us to its total inauthenticity.

“Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.” ― George Orwell, 1984
“…a society where everyone knew that what their leaders said was not real, because they could see with their own eyes that the economy was falling apart. But everybody had to play along, and pretend that it was real, because no one could imagine any alternative.”
"The underlying aim Surkov said, was not to win the war, but to use the conflict to create a constant state of destabilized perception, in order to manage and control"

In his Culture of Critique trilogy Kevin MacDonald shows how many Jewish intellectual movements have developed a culture of critique that undermines those ideas and values that protect White group interests and cohesion. These Jewish intellectual movements include the Frankfurt School (philosophy, sociology), Boazian anthropology, Freudian psychoanalysis, the New York Intellectuals (literature), Marxism and even […] follow the link…..

Law Changes

Law Changes

An excellent report by the UK column about the authoritarian law changes being adopted because of the virus.  It follows a similar play book as the patriot act.  Use a crisis to introduce new legislation and restrict even more freedoms. We are seeing the introduction of a technocratic fascism.

 Corona hoax

There are hashtags trending on Twitter claiming that the virus is a hoax.  Of course that is not true because real people are dying but it does look like it is being exaggerated and often the people who die have existing chronic conditions. This is the kind of comparison  that is often found in the Tweets.

It is pretty damning but look at the date (9 March) and remember what we said about exponential growth (in the previous post).  Also, for those other diseases there was no nationwide quarantines.   The diseases simply ran their course.  Countries that were very late taking measures against Covid19 have seen fatality rates ramp up. So, we are not comparing like with like. We do not shut down the country for seasonal flu. So, you cannot legitimately compare seasonal flu with Covid19.  The only valid way to do that would be to let Covid19 rip around the globe without taking any quarantine measures but such a response would be irresponsible.  The CFR in Italy has overtaken that of China. I am sure that as many old people with existing chronic conditions live in China as in Italy.  In fact total cases in China is 81,008 compared to 47,021 in Italy and yet China had a lower death rate.  That demonstrates that the speed of reaction and how the treatment regime make a big difference. After a slow start China got right on top of it. There are no new cases in China except for people who are now arriving from outside China.   These are the up to date figures: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

As I have said before, in the end we will only know after the pandemic has ended and when all the data is collated and properly analyzed.  However, even then will we ever know for certain?  Science itself has been hijacked and utterly corrupted as the climate change debate  has shown.  Data and results are manipulated or spun.   In the end the precautionary principle dictates that we must take preventative action but we must monitor the situation very careful and resist encroaching fascism and authoritarianism.
