Qasem Soleimani was on his way for peace talks with Saudi Arabia when he was assassinated in Iraq. Ismail Haniyeh the Hamas peace negotiator was assassinated in Iran. I detect a pattern. Israel wants to provoke Iran into starting a wider war so that they can drag the USA into the theater.

Israel has degraded the command structure of Hezbollah.  Obviously Mossad has penetrated the organization. Israel also has air superiority but a ground invasion is another matter.  Last time Israel invaded Lebanon (in the 80s) they lost 40  Merkava battle tanks and had to retreat.
