The Jesuits, Society for Jesus or Society for Jews?
Just as Rabbinical Judaism is closely linked with the formation of Islam, so also the Jews featured large in the establishment of the Jesuit movement which formed the “shock-troops” of the Catholic Church. The founder of the movement was a Jew as was the Jesuit Ribera who wrote a futurist interpretation of the Apocalypse which is often used to disparage any futurist approach. Of course, that is ridiculous because everyone would agree that elements of the Apocalypse are still future otherwise the Messiah would have returned already. The reason that is often given for the Jesuit-Jew Ribera writing a “futurist” approach is to supposedly prevent the Beast etc from being identified with the Catholic Church. In other words a “futurist” view protects the church.
However, the real reason why Ribera wrote this interpretation was to prevent any identification of the protagonists with the Jews. Any interpretation that has at least a partial fulfillment in the first and second century has a negative impact on the Jews. After all, they are called false Jews from the synagogue of Satan. It is better then to ignore any reference to the Jews and refer it all to the future. However, Christians did adapt the notion of animal sacrifice in the millennium which was a Jesuit (aka Jewish) corruption.
As to the Apocalypse – it demonstrates a number of repeat patterns (see the commentary PRITA on this website). It is neither all in the past nor all in the future and it is certainly not a continuous unfolding of history. The Apocalypse was of uttermost importance to Christians living at the end of the age of Jewish Temple worship in the period AD 70-AD 136. It is also of immense importance to Christians living at the end of this age where Judaism and temple worship is re-emerging.
So, tell me again who the MOTHER OF HARLOTS is?
