That is the title of an interesting article by Pepe Escobar. See: https://consortiumnews.com/2019/10/18/pepe-escobar-the-road-to-damascus-how-the-syria-war-was-won/
Progress?
“The ceasefire is holding up very nicely. There are some minor skirmishes that have ended quickly. New areas being resettled with Kurds. U.S. soldiers are not in combat or ceasefire zone. We have secured the Oil.” Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense. Ending endless wars!

Surprise visit!
Why would Nacy Pelosi and Adam Schiff fly to Jordan and Afghanistan when they are in the middle of an impeachment drama? It seems very strange.
Speaker Pelosi-led CODEL were in Afghanistan today meeting with top military and government leaders including Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on security, governance and economic development.

Questions
Although the article by Escobar is very good it completely neglects the role of Saudi Arabia and Israel. We might also mention the pan-Arabist push by the likes of Nasser et al, supported by the Soviet Union. The “game of thrones” has always been played as the superpowers correctly recognize that the key to global hegemony is control of the Middle East.
In previous articles we identified the two main protagonists as the Anglo-Zionists and the Globo-Bolsheviks. This still holds true but questions remain. For example, we see a smooth transition from Bush to Obama as far as the Middle East is concerned. It made little difference whether they were republican or democrat as they both believed in the globalist NWO. Obama obtained a “Nobel Peace Prize” but it was on his watch that Syria was destabilized. Even so, Obama was regarded as not being as supportive of Israel. Now we have Trump who is attempting (against the wishes of the Deep State) to resit further wars in the Middle East. It seems that he is not keen on war with Iran (he fired Bolton). Yet, Trump is regarded as extremely pro-Israel, but all the while he is frustrating the Yinon plan for more Zionist expansion. On the other hand, Trump would like to force through a Palestinian settlement that is advantageous to the Jews. We seem to be getting “mixed signals”. The neoconservatives are deeply embedded on both sides of government. This may seem surprising until we remember that neocons origins can be traced back to Jewish Trotskyites. So both the left and the right have played along with the neocon plan for the Middle East. There are many who have made a lot of money through weapons and oil sales and the deep state certainly benefits from continued chaos. We have then multiple agenda’s at play, all focusing on the Middle East. One suspects that the ongoing Ukraine investigations, the trip (and surprise visits) by Attorney General Barr to various European embassies and the “impeachment” are all related to a network of arms and oil smuggling and other nefarious deeds that is being uncovered. Make no mistake, the fact that democrats have flown out at short notice to the Middle East demonstrates that they are worried. In the end, what is happening in the US is either directly or indirectly linked to the Jews and Israel.
